Travel writer slams 'rubbish' Britain

Bill Bryson, the well-known Anglophile travel writer, has appealed to tourism specialists to clean up their act if they want Britain to remain an attractive tourist destination.

The American has decried British cities and popular attractions as a 'national disgrace' and warns that, unless the problem is tackled, discerning travellers will turn their noses up at Britain's charms.
