E-Passports a reality in US

Any US passport issued after 2006 will contain a radio frequency identification device allowing the US Government to track the location of its citizens anywhere in the World. Introduced as a means of reducing international terrorism and cutting identity theft, there are serious concerns amongst human rights groups that such tracking is a mis-use of government power. There are plans for similar systems to be introduced in the UK and Germany.
